Tuesday Morning Sketch #39

Stamps: Bugaboo digi 'Flower', Papertrey 'Everyday Button Bits' sentiment. Cardstock: DCWV 'Nana's Kitchen', 'Citrus Stack', and 'Garden Party'; Wild Wasabi, GP 110 white. Ink: Copics. Accessories: red brads, Dazzling Diamonds glitter, SU scallop border punch.

This week's Tuesday Morning Sketch has a wide image panel, perfect for this adorable little, round mouse digi image so generously donated by our sponsor, Bugaboo Stamps. I double printed the image so I could pop up the flower portion, colored to mimic the background DP down to the sparkly center:

Saturday Spotlight #24: Inspirational Coffee!

Stamps: Cutting Cafe digital stamp set 'Got Coffee?' . Cardstock: Baja Breeze, My Mind's Eye 'Simply Delightful' DP, GP 110 white. Ink: Copics. Accessories: Nestabilities Scalloped circle, Stardust glitter pen.

For Saturday Spotlight Challenge #24 the Divas would like to challenge you to create something with COFFEE in mind! You don't HAVE to use coffee images for this challenge, you can take inspiration from the colors you think of in coffee like rich browns, blacks, tan/creamy colors, etc. And to help you out a bit further, we wanted to provide you with this inspirational photo:

So please take the inspiration from the photo or from the colors you think of with coffee and have fun with it!! Looking forward to seeing what you come up with!!

For our special Spotlight sponsor this week we have...

We would like to thank The Cutting Cafe' for providing some images for the design team to work with on their creations for this week!!

Thanks to this amazing coffee set, my card for this week came together very quickly. I cut out the image/sentment circle, paper-pieced the cups (Melissa of Stamp It, Scrap It, Share It has a extremely helpful Digi-Stamping Paper Piecing Tutorial, that demonstrates how to minimize waste when paper-piecing digi images), and then used Sweet Sunday Sketch #61 to showcase this fun focal point:

All Things Grow with Love

Stamps: Magnolia image, Papertrey 'Everyday Button Bits' sentiment. Ink: Memento black, Copics. Cardstock: Kiwi Kiss, Bella Rose DP, Papertrey white. Accessories: Nestabilities rectangle and scalloped circle, Matha Stewart leaf punch, SU scallop circle punch, Stardust glitter pen, white gel pen, Dazzling Diamonds glitter, jumbo paper clip.

The original plan for this card was to include the paper flower on the card, but it just seemed a bit overpowering for the CAS version of Midnight Madness Sketch challenge #46 . Instead, it ended up on its very own display -- a jumbo clip, suitable for marking any spot with a very visible paper zinnia!

The inspiration for creating this flower (first admired on the TUTORIAL on the Lord Have Mercy blog) was the Opus Gluei challenge #47 to 'use paper in a new way'. Thanks for getting me moving on trying this fun technique, Jana and Rosemary!

Tuesday Morning Sketch #38

Stamps: Stitchy Bear Stamps digi 'Hang in There', Stampabilities sentiment. Cardstock: Bashful Blue, Night of Navy, DCWV 'Party Time' glitter DP, GP 110 white. Ink: Copics, Night of Navy. Accessories: K & Co. light up Birthday Cake sticker, navy brads.

This week's Tuesday Morning sketch #38 is perfect for a long image, vertical sentiment, or stacked set of images like this adorable 'Hang in There' mouse digi by Stitchy Bear Stamps and the light up birthday cake resting on the book pile. The candles actually light up which might explain that top mouse's shocked expression:

Either that or just the sight of another birthday cake? I've reached the state where although I appreciate having another birthday (versus the alternative), I don't necessarily like being reminded of them!

Tuesday Morning Sketches #37!

Stamps: Ai Factory 'Floral Passions', Papertrey 'Flower Garden Sentiments'. Cardstock: Paper Studio DP, PTI white, unknown source green gingham DP. Ink: Copics, Lovely Lilac. Accessories: steno notebook, RSVP pen, beads, various ribbons.

This week's sponsor is Ai Factory and the challenge is use whichever sketch you'd like to create an altered item! I decided to go with two of my favorite items to alter -- a mini notebook and coordinating pen. Cute and useful!

The digi image donated to the the Design Team is called 'Floral Passions' and was perfect with bright colors to make it pop and then cutting out and literally popping up other portions of the image:

The sketch is inspired by Card Patterns Sketch #55 with its image panel perfect for the long-stemmed flower and shape of the altered notebook. These notebooks were a real bargain at 10 for $2 at Dollar General!

Saturday Spotlight #22: You're So Slick!

Stamps: Sassy Studio digi 'Bubble Bath', Papertrey 'Mixed Messages'. Cardstock: Lovely Lilac, Silver, glossy white. Ink: Copics, Lovely Lilac. Accessories: ribbon, Glossy Accents.

For this week's Saturday Spotlight challenge.....

The Spotlight Divas would like to challenge you to be "so slick"! Nope, it's not a typo! We mean "slick" as in slick card stock, embellishments, acetate paper, crystal lacquer, etc. etc....list can go on and on! We figured this was the season for Spring rain, so why not make something slick or 'wet looking'! Sound like fun?!! Grab your slickness and get creating! We'd love to see what you come up with!

For our Spotlight sponsor this week we have...

(click HERE to go to store.)

For my card, I used the CAS version of Midnight Madness sketch #44 (the clean part of CAS is rather appropriate, don't you think?) and rotated it to fit this fun 'slick' image by Sassy Studios. The background is a faux marble sheet given to me by a very talented Secret Sister; it's so gorgeous that I wished I'd photographed it before placing the image! To complete the slick look, I used Glossy Accents to really make the bubbles 'slick':

The Joy of Buttons!

Stamps: Everyday Button Bits. Cardstock: Almost Amethyst, Basic Grey, Barely Banana, Basic Grey 'Sugar Rush'. Ink: Certainly Celery, Real Red. Accessories: button, Three Flower Punch, brads, Stardust glitter pen, long rectangle Nesties.

KLSNS challenge #20 for this week is 'Button Down the Hatches' so I thought it was the perfect time to initiate my brand new 'Everyday Button Bits' set from Papertrey!

The sketch is courtesy of Splitcoast Stamper's Sketch Challenge #271.

It was an absolutely beautiful day here today -- sunshine and in the 70s, but I guess it's now time to pay because we are currently under a tornado watch. Welcome to Spring weather in the Midwest!

Wishing you joy in your day (and no tornados)!

Tuesday Morning Sketches #36

Stamps: Papertrey sentiment. Cardstock: Chocolate Chip, Pink Pirouette, Basic Grey 'Nook and Pantry' DP. Ink: Chocolate Chip. Accessories: Martha Stewart scallop border punch and 'Pink Clay' craft seam binding, dotted grosgrain ribbon.

When I first peeked at Tuesday Morning Sketch #36, it immmediately reminded me of a quilt so I started searching through my stash for quilting-related sentiments. Lucky for me, I received a selection of Papertrey sentiments in a previous card kit swap.

Once I had the card complete, it seemed a bit humorous to use a crazy quilt style for a family theme; then again, it might be appropriate in some circumstances!

It IS Easy Being Green!

Stamps: Magnolia Tilda, Studio G sentiment. Cardstock: GP110 white, Reminisce DP. Ink: Memento black, Copics. Accessories: CM oval cutter, Wright's white grosgrain ribbon, Spare Parts brads, CB Houndstooth.

Opus Gluei's challenge #45 for this week is exactly this title, and we have free reign to interpret that theme as we will. First, I went with the literal definition and used this amazing card kit that I received as a prize in Angela's (SCS monkeymama) Magnolia card kit swap. Angela is a queen of card kits and included not only these goodies, but enough to make several more cards! If you are interested, Round 5 of the Magnolia Card Kit Swaps is currently in full swing.

The layout is inspired by the always versatile sketched at Mercy's Tuesday Morning Sketch challenge #63.

Although this is a St. Patrick's Day Tilda, I went with the good luck theme to make it more general purpose. Here's the inside of the card:

For my second card, I went with the current popular definition of green:

Stamps: Papertrey 'Mailbox Greetings'. Paper: Kraft, the eco Stack DP. Ink: Chocolate Chip. Accessories: circle punch.

The sketch is courtesy of Clean & Simple Stamping's Fall-To sketch #81 (reducing my paper use with a CAS theme), and also recycled with the 70% recycled paper content DP. Hey, I could also allow the card to be re-used by using a sticky note for an inside greeting to the recipient. All three sides of the recycling triangle checked!

Check out the always-fun gals over at Order of the Opus Gluei; there's plenty of time to go green!

For this week's Saturday Spotlight challenge.....

For our Spotlight sponsor this week we have...

Tuesday Morning Sketch Challenge #35!

Stamps: Inktegrity 'Takoda Kitty and sentiment'. Cardstock: Night of Navy, GP 110 white, Bashful Blue/Certainly Celery Print Patterns, Bo Bunny 'Pet Shop' DPs. Accessories: Circle Nestabilities, gemstone buckle, navy satin ribbon.

An honor to add to my Design Team resume: Melissa, sketch designer extraordinaire, asked me to be the March Guest Designer for her Tuesday Morning Sketches challenge blog!

Our sponsor for the first sketch of the month is Inktegrity:

The very generous creator of Inktegrity, Joni, gave us our choice of images so I chose this sweet kitty image which also comes as a single cat image and with additional sentiments.

Melissa (Stamp It, Scrap It, Share It) has a extremely helpful Digi-Stamping Paper Piecing Tutorial, that demonstrates how to minimize waste when paper-piecing digi images like these kitties:
