Paper Pretties Wednesday Challenge #134: Ring In the New Year!

Stamps:  Paper Pretties 'Elegant Sentiments'.  Cardstock:  Textured black, red, silver, glitter white.  Ink:  Versamark.  Accessories:  circle and square Nestabilities, Martha Stewart scallop border punch, silver EP.

This week's challenge is to  ring in the new year...use "ring" as your inspiration...could be circles, could be silver or gold, could be gems...anything that you can do with "ring" as your inspiration.   I used wedding rings as my inspiration and created a 'congratulations (on your wedding) card with this elegant sentiment set that also features rings in the border design:

The sketch inspiration for this card is Mercy's Tuesday Sketch #106.  In case you didn't know, this is Mercy's final sketch challenge.  That makes me a bit sad since I always find Mercy's sketches very inspiring, but it also seems fitting since this is my last DT card for a while.  I'll be taking a break from 'serious' stamping  while our family prepares to move to a new home and prepares the current home for sale.  Wish us luck and as few frustrations as possible with the home-buying/family moving process!
Be sure to enjoy the other Pretties' Gals 'ringing' cards:

Paper Pretties Wednesday Challenge #133: Birthdays!

Stamps:  Paper Pretties 'ElegantSentiments'.  Cardstock:  Bayou Blue, DCWV 'Linen Closet'.  Ink:  Versamark.  Accessories:  white detail EP.

Our challenge this week is to create a birthday card. I went the Clean and Simple route, pulling inspiration from the archives with Fall-To sketch #110 and this newly released  'Elegant Sentiments' set:

Who needs a lot of layers or embellishments when you have this beautiful sentiment and sparkly DP?

Tuesday Morning Sketch #73: Embellish It!

Stamps:  Papertrey 'Daily Designs' sentiment.  Cardstock:  GP110 white, Taken with Teal, silver.  Ink:  Versamark.   Accessories:  silver EP.

This week our sponsor is Paper Maniac and our challenge is to embellish your project in a non-traditional way.  I opted to create my own non-traditional embellish that also functions as a people embellishment -- have you seen these altered washers yet?

This technique involves a washer, alcohol inks, and Crystal effects and is so simple a kid can do it.  That's the truth -- my daughters created their own pendants as gifts for friends!  Here's a TUTORIAL if you want to try the technique with DPs.

To keep the emphasis on the pendant, I went with a CAS Fall-To sketch #121.

Paper Pretties is releasing seven brand new sets this month.  The set I'm showcasing today is 'Timeless Love' which features this heart image and sentiment combo as well as 3 more heart images in a funky, vintage, tatoo kinda style.  The set contains 8 phrases you can combine to form your own personalized sentiment!

I chose this flourished heart and my favorite closing signature line for a CAS version of Sweet Sunday sketch challenge #95.  Who needs lots of layers with this elegant image and gorgeous DP?

Next stop on the hop is Wendy's (Creations by Wendalyn) blog.  Enjoy!

Welcome to Paper Pretties Wednesday challenge and day 6 of the December release sneak peeks!

Our challenge for this week is to use a punched shape on your project -- it finally inspired me to break out my very neglected Martha Stewart  'Cherry Blossom' set!

The featured stamp for today is 'Love Birds', the latest fun addition to the Victoria Case line of chicks with attitude like 'Wicked Old Bird' and 'Holiday Polly'.  These sweet birds come with five different sentiments, perfect for any sweetheart occasion.

The sketch is courtesy of Midnight Madness sketch #83 which actually leans more towards the fancy version than my usual CAS!

Making a Naughty or Nice List?

Tiddly Inks digi 'Check My List Twice', MFT sentiment.  Cardstock:  K&Co. 'Let it Snow!', Real Red, GP110 white, Papertrey white.  Accessories:  rectangle and tag Nestabilities, white flocking, felt ribbon, mini comp book, mini gel pen.

I take my cue from Santa -- I'm constantly making lists for Christmas!  Mini notebooks are the perfect size for those spur of the moment gift idea epiphanies or even the more mundane notes like keeping track of gifts you've already purchased.

Isn't this cutie from Tiddly Inks the perfect cover art for your 'naughty or nice lists'?  I added flocking to her suit trim for a little extra touchable fun:

Tiddly Inks challenge #30:  'Christmas Time is Here' is the inspiration for this notable project and Mercy's Tuesday Sketch #102 provided the sketch.  Now if I can just get organized enough to use it!

Paper Pretties 'Scout Sophia'.  Cardstock:  Wild Wasabi, My Mind's Eye DP, Papertrey white.  Ink:  Memento black, Copics, Versamark.  Accessories:  white EP, long rectangle Nestabilities, green satin ribbon.

Welcome to the second day of Paper Pretties' sneak peeks for December!  The Pretties DT will be featuring sneak peeks of a new stamp set every day this week, leading up to a grand release blog hop on Friday, December 10th!

Today our featured stamp set is 'Scout Sophia'.  Isn't the latest addition to the Sophia collection an adorable little scout?

I'm still practicing on the hair coloring tutorials featured on the Whimsie Doodles' blog -- the highlights are a bit on on this Sophia, but I think I'm improving?

The sketch is courtesy of Midnight Madness #82, done in extreme CAS style -- I didn't even mat the main image panel!

Be sure to stop by the Paper Pretties blog for more sneak peeks of this cutie and the other seven amazing sets to be released this month!
