Welcome to Paper Pretties' Wednesday Challenge #199!

The sketch is courtesy of Card Patterns Sketch #158.

Tuesday Morning Sketch #137: Quilted Thank You

Stamp:  Penny Black sentiment.  Cardstock:  Textured black, DCWV  'La Creme' DP.  Ink:  Versamark black.  Accessories:  Oval Nestabilities, organdy ribbon.
Here's our fun sketch created by Melissa for this week's challenge:

Isn't this the perfect quilt sketch?  I rotated to fit my sentiment and used these fun DPs (some flocked) to complete the sketch -- CAS and relatively quick if you can get past those Monk-like tendencies to demand perfect margins!

Our sponsor this week is There She Goes and our added challenge is to create a monochromatic project!

Paper Pretties' Wednesday Challenge #196: Manly Cards

Paper Pretties 'Fun Quotes'.  Cardstock:  Chocolate Chip, Basic Grey 'Archaic', textured vanilla.  Ink:  Chocolate Chip.
Our challenge this week is to create a masculine project .

According to the males in my life, these are the requirements for a 'manly' card:
1) NO ribbon or sparkles.
2) NO flowery sentiments, and humor is preferred.

I think I avoided those no-no's fairly well, and stuck with an earthy color combo as a bonus.  This card is intended to be a birthday greeting, so the inside sentiment will read '... Guess that makes you a day older, too!'.  Kind of fits with the 'Archaic' DP, doesn't it??

Sketch is courtesy of Clean & Simple's Fall-To #139.

Our sponsor this week is Guylou's Inimitability who creates digi images.  Unfortunately, I realized we had these fun images available to the DT a bit too late to showcase one on my card for this week.

Instead, I created a birthday set to celebrate the birthday of my very talented stamping buddy, Angela (Just Monkeying Around).  Here's the full set:

Featuring a mini birthday cake created from a battery-powered votive:

And of course, chocolate!

Now, if only I'd been organized enough to mail these goodies so they would arrive prior to the reveal on this post!  Oh well, so much for the surprise, but I still hope you have a wonderful birthday, Angela!!
