The Gift of Hand-Stamped

Today's DRS blog challenge is to use a 'Hand-stamped' image as a focal point. DRS Designs carries several of these stamps (they call them 'Recognition stamps') which are the perfect way to finish projects with a personal touch.

To be honest, I struggled with this challenge. My first idea did not translate well to paper and after that my muse must have gone on vacation. I kept drawing a blank because I couldn't figure out a way to use the image as a focal point and its intended purpose which seems to be as a more behind-the-scenes accent. Finally, I decided simple was best and created this card:
Stamps by DRS Designs: Handmade by C264, Mega Flower Oval H 303, Cardstock: white textured, Lovely Lilac, GP110 white. Ink: Lovely Lilac, Mellow Moss, white gel pen. Accessories: oval Nestabilities, satin ribbon, Stardust glitter pen.

To return the image to its roots of gift giving, I added an inner pocket to hold three tags for use by the card recipient:

These tags all feature the newly released frames designed to work with punches and Nestabilities, so they were quick and easy to assemble.

Stamps: Four Flower Backgrounds M385, Handmade by C264, Frames G320, F322. Cardstock: Lovely Lilac, Certainly Celery, GP110 white. Ink: Lovely Lilac, Certainly Celery. Accessories: Oval and square Nestabilites, circle punches, organdy ribbon, Stardust glitter pen.

Be sure to stop by the DRS blog and check out the creative ideas the other Design Team Members came up with for these hand-stamped images!

**BLOG CANDY ALERT!! Another great reason to stop by the DRS blog is for the chance to win free adhesive:

It is a roll of two sided tape (1/2" x 36 yards) and all you have to do is leave a comment on this post indicating which DRS image is your favorite! A random winner will be drawn on Sunday night Feb. 8, 2009.

  1. Very pretty, Jess! I love the addition of the little tags inside, too. These would get plenty of use from any of our fellow papercrafters. :) Kelly

  2. I think this idea turned out very well! I love the blank tags you made for the inside-the purple and greens are very pretty!

  3. Such a pretty creation Jessica!! Love your inside tags as well!! Clever idea!! :) TFS!

  4. I love your idea! I would have been totally lost with that challenge - you definitely did a great job. Very clever idea to put the tags inside; AND, wow, the tags are awesome! I very partial to purple and love it with green. Very, very nice project, once again! :)

  5. I love the colors and that ribbon is "yummy"! Very pretty :)
