More Mother of Pearl Sneak Peek

Remember the 'Incredible Adventures' card I posted a few days ago that used a faux mother of pearl technique to create a sky background? I used the same exact technique (including the same color ink!) on a sympathy card. In this case, the technique adds an elegant, soothing touch to a theme I always find difficult to make cards fo.

Be sure to stop by the DRS Designs blog to view the latest card and links to this fun and versatile technique!

Friends in All Sizes

Stamps: Stampavie 'Lily - My Little Friends', Stamping Bella sentiment. Cardstock: Bermuda Bay, Rich Razzleberry, Papertrey white, Basic Grey 'Lemonade'. Ink: Memento black, Rich Razzleberry, Copics. Accessories: Circle Nestabilities, burgundy satin ribbon, Stardust glitter pen.

The fun sketch for this card is inspired by Mojo Monday Sketch #98 and the card features the yummy new Basic Grey 'Lemonade' DP and soon-to-be-retired Stampavie 'Lily - My Little Friends' image, both available at great prices over on KL Stampin N Scrappin!

This adorable Stampavie image reminds me a bit of our household; if Dad didn't put his foot down, we probably would have pets/friends in all shapes and sizes. Right now we have it limited to two dogs, two Zebra finches, three aquaria, and two newly adopted bunnies!

Here are our latest additions, two New Zealand White rabbits named Denali and Gizmo. To read the whole sad story on how these boys and over a hundred relatives ended up at the Missouri House Rabbit Society Rescue, see this article with photos:

After roaming the house, the bunnies love to 'chill' and clean their faces over the air conditioning vents. It kind of looks like Gizmo is saying a bunny prayer -- I wonder what bunnies pray for??

SheetLoads, Basic Style

Stamps: Sweet 'n Sassy (Chocoholic). Ink: Stampin' Up (Chocolate Chip, Riding Hood Red), Copic markers. Cardstock: Stampin Up (Very Vanilla, Riding Hood Red, Candy Cane Lane DP). Accessories: Spellbinders (Circle and square Nestabilities), Stampin Up (scallop border punch, Riding Hood Red taffeta ribbon), Ink Essentials (white gel pen).

Have you downloaded the free August issue of SheetLoads yet? It features this great debut sketch by Liz Weber and is sponsored by Sweet N Sassy stamps. The stamp set I was able to showcase is this 'Chocoholic' and I loved it!!

This card is my simple version, based completely off the sketch with no extra frills. The use of DP was all it needed to accent this yummy image and perfect sentiment.

I'll be showcasing more cards and also a 3-D project for this issue that put my own spin on the sketch throughout the month, but you can see all the creations by the SheetLoads and Sweet N Sassy Design Team at once by downloading your own issue HERE. Be sure to try out the sketch for yourself -- it's such a versatile one!
