Last week, my husband and I celebrated our 16th anniversary and this is the card I created for him. It's full of symbolism, which means it probably doesn't look like a typical anniversary card. For example, the three heart brads are for our three great loves, our daughters! And note the lack of ribbon, a nod to DH's opinion that if it has ribbon, it's not a masculine card.

Special thanks to my friend, Tracy, for bringing this awesome 'Through the Trees' set all the way from Florida so I could play with it!!

There's Potential....

Here's the reason I haven't been crafting much lately, or at least part of the reason:

Can you say piles? Not the most efficient organizing system, but that's what happens when you move all of the crafting supplies from a semi-organized upstairs to a brand-spanking new space downstairs!

Here's the real potential of the place -- look at all that open space!

Now if only I could work up the courage to fasten something to those pristine new walls.....

Thanks to Rosemary and Jana over at Order of the Opus Gluei challenge #61 (What's Going On?) for inspiring me to share this space and hopefully spur some accountability to actually make it a useable crafting space!

Tuesday Morning Sketch #51: Caught a Bug?

Digi image: Whimsie Doodles 'Sitting Dottie'; sentiment is computer-generated. Cardstock: GP110 white, Wild Wasabi, DCWV 'Nana's Kitchen'. Ink: copics. Accessories: primas, gemstone brad, hand-colored baubles, oval Nestabilities, WW punch, Crystal effects, Stardust glitter pen.

Here's this week's Tuesday Morning Sketch #51, sponsored by Whimsie Doodles:

This card was created with the help of several talented crafters, including Whimsie Doodle's Melyssa's Eye-Coloring Tutorial. Even though these eyes are on a very small scale, the results of following this tutorial are still impressive:

You can also see the paper-piecing in the above photo; that technique is courtesy of another talented Melissa.

Also be sure to note the baubles that are hand-colored with alcohol inks by my swapping buddy, Linda. Isn't this an amazing selection that this very generous gal sent me?

Tuesday Morning Sketch #50: Just Chick-ing In!

Stamps: Soft Pencil 'My New Tiny Friends'. Cardstock: GP110 white, DCWV 'Citrus Stack', Real Red. Ink: Copics. Accessories: computer-generated sentiment, Bazzill dotted organdy.

This week's Tuesday Morning Challenge #50, sponsored by Softpencil Digital Stamps is a technique challenge to create a 'Step Ladder card. Here's a tutorial for one version and here's the tutorial I used for a 'Half Ladder' card.

This sweet digi 'My New Tiny Friends' also has a smiling sunshine which I also paper-pieced and accented with Dazzling Diamonds, but then promptly forgot to adhere it to the card before photographing it -- argh! Anyone else needing a bit of peace and calm in there life to restore brain function??
