Saturday Spotlight #24: Inspirational Coffee!

Stamps: Cutting Cafe digital stamp set 'Got Coffee?' . Cardstock: Baja Breeze, My Mind's Eye 'Simply Delightful' DP, GP 110 white. Ink: Copics. Accessories: Nestabilities Scalloped circle, Stardust glitter pen.

For Saturday Spotlight Challenge #24 the Divas would like to challenge you to create something with COFFEE in mind! You don't HAVE to use coffee images for this challenge, you can take inspiration from the colors you think of in coffee like rich browns, blacks, tan/creamy colors, etc. And to help you out a bit further, we wanted to provide you with this inspirational photo:

So please take the inspiration from the photo or from the colors you think of with coffee and have fun with it!! Looking forward to seeing what you come up with!!

For our special Spotlight sponsor this week we have...

We would like to thank The Cutting Cafe' for providing some images for the design team to work with on their creations for this week!!

Thanks to this amazing coffee set, my card for this week came together very quickly. I cut out the image/sentment circle, paper-pieced the cups (Melissa of Stamp It, Scrap It, Share It has a extremely helpful Digi-Stamping Paper Piecing Tutorial, that demonstrates how to minimize waste when paper-piecing digi images), and then used Sweet Sunday Sketch #61 to showcase this fun focal point:

**One lucky winner from our challenge in Mister Linky this week drawn from random.org will receive ** THREE SETS of choice from the Cutting Cafe!**

Saturday Spotlight on Hidden Potential #8: Ornaments!

Digital images by Cutting CafĂ©: ‘All About Christmas’. Cardstock: Vellum, silver, Doodlebug white glitter. Accessories: Circle Nestabilities, hole punch, organdy ribbon.

Christmas is only 33 days away – can you believe it? And in the spirit of preparing for the season, this week’s Saturday Spotlight on Hidden Potential, sponsored by the Cutting Cafe, is all about ornaments.

Here's this week's challenge: Make your version of any type of ornament...doesn't have to be just for Christmas...any kind!

For my first ornament, I colored in the snowflake from the ‘All About Christmas’ set via the free Paint.net and then printed it out on vellum. A couple of circle die cuts and voila – a gift tag that is also a memento to hang on the recipient’s tree. The vellum image gives a beautiful stained glass effect when backlit by a Christmas tree light.

The second ornament is all about the sparkle – glitter DP, Dazzling Diamonds on the snowflake image, and even glitter pen accents on the center snowflake!

Sparkly items are so difficult for me to photograph their true beauty (it's much better IRL when you can play with it in the sunshine!), but here's a more detailed photo of all the bling:

Be sure to stop by the Saturday Spotlight on Hidden Potential challenge #8 post to see how the other Design Team members created ornaments or used them in their projects. Link your own ornament creation to the post for your chance to win three free sets of your choice from the Cutting Cafe!

Got Digital Sprinkles?

Image by Cutting Cafe 'From My Kitchen'. Cardstock: Textured white. Digital DP by Sugarplum Paperie 'Daisies'. Accessories: pink organdy ribbon, gems, button, SU scallop border punch.

This is my first all-digital card -- quite the accomplishment from someone who more often than not is willing to toss the computer out the window!! I even managed some paper-piecing by printing the cupcake on pre-printed digital DP.

Inspiration for this project came from Sweet Sketch Wednesday #15. I was actually trying to do Simon Says' recipe challenge, too; it called for 1 image, 2 papers, and 3 embellishments. Check on image, check on embellies, but way too many DPs. What can I say? I'm addicted to my papers, and obviously not a great recipe-follower, either!

Special thanks to my stamping buddy, Jacque, for sending me this fun heart button. She actually sent me several of these, but it's taken me months to actually part with this one!
